About Us

Making the World a Better Place For All of Us

Our Story

Our story started in 1978, when Joe and Dianne DeMarco went through one of the hardest things in life, the loss of a loved one, their son Joseph III.  They took that loss and turned it into a celebration where each year we get to honor Joseph with awarding a graduating Senior from Audubon High School with a scholarship in young Joe’s name.  Our Committee dedicates their time, resources and their passion to make sure the tournament goes on each year.

Our Mission

The Joseph L. Demarco, III Memorial Golf Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Joseph L. DeMarco III.  The golf tournament funds a scholarship which is presented to an Audubon High School senior at graduation. The recipient must demonstrate character, leadership and dedication to the golf team or other school activities. The recipient must also demonstrate academic achievement.

Scholarship Funds Awarded

We have been so lucky to have been able to award over $550,000 in scholarships.

Past Recipients

Over the past 43 years, we had 44 great scholarship recipients.

Volunteers

With the help of our Comminuty, Audubon Schools, Parents, Friends and Family, our volunteers help us put on of the best golf tournaments each year!

Years

Since 1978 we have been providing a Senior from Audubon High School with a Scholarship for College.

A Letter from the Chairman

Dear Friends,

It’s an understatement to say 2020 is like no other year anyone can remember.  We hope that everyone and their families are safe and healthy.  One thing we can always rely on is the continued support from all of you.  For us, 2020 marks the 42nd year for the Joseph DeMarco Memorial Golf Tournament!  This is something we would have not been able to accomplish without your help, THANK YOU!

Our story started in 1978, when Joe and Dianne went thought one of the hardest things in life, the loss of a loved one, their son Joseph III.  They took that pain and turned it into a celebration where each year we get to honor Joseph with awarding a graduating Senior from Audubon High School with a $25,000.00 Scholarship in young Joe’s memory.  Our Committee dedicates their time, resources and their passion to make sure we host the best Golf Tournament possible year after year.

Right before graduation, our Committee went through our Blind-Selection Process, to select our new recipient who most exemplifies the character of young Joe.  From the Class of 2020, we would like to welcome Jaquan Mellette Skates to the DeMarco Family as our 43rd recipient!  Quan is continuing his education with a degree in Criminal Justice.  Congratulations to Quan and his family!

This year’s Tournament will be held on Wednesday, September 16th at Medford Village Country Club.  Enclosed is this year’s brochure with all the details.  The course is beautiful, the food is spectacular, and you will not want to miss out on our prize table and other fun activities!  We do expect to have a full field again this year, so our recommendation is to reserve your spot early to this great event.  Please help us keep this going by telling your friends, co-workers, and relatives about it and get them to come out and join us to support this great cause!  You can read more information on our website www.DeMarcoMemorialGolf.org and also connect with us by “Liking” us on Facebook at DeMarcoMemorialGolf

Rest assured, we and Medford Village Country Club are following all health and safety protocols outlined by the Governor and the CDC to ensure we have an amazing time while maintaining the safety of everyone.

Please join us for a great day with great people.  If you can’t join us, please consider supporting the Tournament by donating.  On behalf of our Committee and every single recipient, I thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing everyone there!

In the words of our late Chairman, Tom Quackenbush, “Thanks to all our friends from the tournament that never ends!!!”

Sincerely,

Edward Cilurso III
Chairman
